Adult Safeguarding Training

Empowering Communities, Protecting Lives

New for 2026

In December 2025, Ireland made a pivotal advancement in the protection of adults with the publication of its first-ever National Policy Framework for Adult Safeguarding. This groundbreaking initiative sets a comprehensive vision to ensure that every adult engaging with health and social care services is protected from abuse and harm.

Expanding the Scope of Protection

This policy is a landmark due to its expanded coverage. Unlike previous guidelines limited to the Health Service Executive (HSE), this framework applies to all public, voluntary, and private health and social care services. It introduces a dual approach by balancing legislative reforms with cultural improvements to enhance safeguarding practices.

As of January 2026 all of our Training in adult safeguarding will also include how to evaluate risk and how to implement an adult safeguarding statement in your health or social care service.

New Training✨: Equip your staff and volunteers with the critical Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP) skills required for safe and effective support in Ireland's evolving health and social services. This training will ensure your team's practice aligns with the DOH's new National Policy Framework for Adult Safeguarding.

This blended learning course will prepare participants to safely engage with service users, understand the neurobiological impact of trauma, and master the Immediate Reporting Protocols in line with the DOH's expanded scope and forthcoming mandatory reporting requirements as set out in the DOH National Policy Framework for Adult Safeguarding. Participants will deep-dive into the Six Pillars of TIC and develop crucial self-care strategies to mitigate vicarious trauma. Please drop us an email to discuss further.

Testimonials

'I now have the knowledge and confidence to assist someone in a crisis situation. The training has heightened my awareness as to the needs of adults at risk, and given me the tools to apply it to any situation that may arise going forward with confidence. After the training I feel I am in a better place to deliver support to adults at risk and ensure the best possible outcome for them.'

Training Participant

'I don't deal with safeguarding on a daily basis, but it will inform my future work I'm sure. Better understanding of safeguarding practices and where to go for help/advice/information. This training was engaging enough to be well-received online. If it wasn't as well-paced and engaging, and Maighread wasn't so knowledgeable and adept at managing time, questions etc., then it might have been difficult to maintain focus online.'
